INTRODUCING OUR FEBRUARY MAKER…..Hammered Leatherworks

We are a husband and wife team, Adam and Bec to be exact. We are problem solvers and creative thinkers that quickly realised that craft is not just a hobby but our life. We are a little left of centre, our values are old school. We believe in skills, learning new ones and perfecting the old. Traditional techniques are traditional for a reason, they need to be respected and gently brought forth to the current time and place. We love smart design, going into the unknown to create something truly original with an effortless aesthetic.

Everyone can enjoy a Hammered Leatherworks kit, man or woman, child to grandparent you can make it for yourself, gift the finished productor give the gift of a creative journey.

Sprout and Sparrow in The Makers Mailer Past Surprises

INTRODUCING OUR SEPTEMBER MAKER…..Sprout and Sparrow

Hello! We’re Adi (a former lawyer) and Tash (a graphic designer). We’re a sister duo from Melbourne, Australia.

Sprout and Sparrow was born after we spent hours scouring shops and the internet to find the perfect piece of art for our little ones’ bedrooms. We didn’t want to spend a lot of money, we just wanted to find something a little bit different, bold and colourful. Nothing really grabbed us. In a brief moment of calm during a play date one morning, we came up with an idea over a pot of peppermint tea: let’s make our own art!

At Sprout and Sparrow we're passionate about creating wall art that brings colour and life into children’s bedrooms, playrooms and nurseries. All of our products are designed and printed in Melbourne, Australia.

Featuring bold, colourful and contemporary designs, our wall art prints, ply wood blocks and our range of greeting cards and gift tags are playful and fun. We hope you love them!

Habitue Design in The Makers Mailer Past Surprises

INTRODUCING OUR APRIL MAKER…..HABITUEdesign

HABITUEdesign produces contemporary crochet rugs and homewares made predominantly from jersey yarn.  The jersey yarn is a by-product sourced from the fashion industry making it an environmentally friendly solution.  Most rugs are custom, one of a kind designs which are usually a collaboration with Kristy and her customers to ensure they are satisfied with the end product but also so they feel a connection with the pieces.

I started the business last year whenI was at home with my youngest.  I have always been a maker and come from a family of women makers, making makes me happy.

What I love about my products is the tactile nature and the illusion that they are soft and fragile when they are really quite sturdy and hard wearing.
